The Kentucky General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activities (KYR00) expired on May 31, 2018 and has not been re-issued, to date. Any permit coverage has been administratively continued until the new KYR00 General Permit can be issued. Unfortunately, at this time the Division of Water has not given an estimated time frame for the completion of the new General Permit.
When the new General Permit has been issued, the Division of Water should send out a solicitation notification. This notification will include the date the new permit was issued, give a time frame within which applicable parties will need to reapply for coverage, and provide instruction on the renewal process. The Division of Water cannot accept renewal applications at this time. At this time, it is advised to continue to operate under the current expired permit.
